Our Sacred Oceans

This year for Litha my coven will be honoring Yemaya, the ancestral goddess of the ocean.  Yemaya appears in the African Yoruban tradition and in various Afro-Caribbean traditions.  In addition to the ocean, she oversees family and community matters, transformations and the new year.  As part of my preparation for this sabbat, I have gathered some resources about Yemaya and the ocean.

News: The Growing Lust for Agricultural Lands

The Earth has enough resources to support a large population of humans, but only if we use those resources very carefully.  So far, we aren’t.  This leads to shortages of food and water, among other things.  According to the following article, some countries are responding to this challenge buy buying arable land … in other countries.

Action Call: Save the Polar Bear
