If you are called to serve on a jury in the United States, you have the right and obligation to vote your conscience; this means that you may vote “not guilty” if you believe that the law itself is wrong and/or misapplied in the case, even if you believe the defendant commited the alleged act(s) prohibited by that law. No one may punish you for voting your conscience. If you are charged with a crime and tried by a jury of your peers, those jurors likewise have the right to acquit you should they find the law unconstitutional or otherwise repugnant, even if you did what the prosecutor says you did.
