I was not surprised by this article, which indicates that water problems from drilling are more common than previously claimed. Whenever a company or government claims that some problem is “an anomaly” — be suspicious. Do not necessarily assume the problem is widespread without evidence, but definitely check to see if there is a pattern of similar problems. Resistance to your efforts to find out more should greatly increase your suspicions. Helpful acquiescence should somewhat decrease your suspicions.
