This year for Litha my coven will be honoring Yemaya, the ancestral goddess of the ocean. Yemaya appears in the African Yoruban tradition and in various Afro-Caribbean traditions. In addition to the ocean, she oversees family and community matters, transformations and the new year. As part of my preparation for this sabbat, I have gathered some resources about Yemaya and the ocean.

I love the ocean and cycle down to the beach once or twice a week for a very personal visit. It never gets boring. Often I have my camera on my hip to capture the moments.
It’s sad what lies beneath the surface in the populated and industrial areas. Hopefully the environmental movements will improve on our past treatment of the oceans,

You are lucky to live near the ocean! Yes, people have really trashed the ocean, but I too hope that someday it will get cleaned up.I love your Social Fix blog! I left you some comments. I hope you visit Gaiatribe again.
